Student Activities and Athletics are a vital part of the overall educational program. Participation in activities and athletics is a privilege available to all eligible students. This privilege carries with it serious personal responsibilities to the school and the community.

Participants and staff members understand that an emphasis on academic achievement is of high importance. Most importantly, the overall purpose of student activities is to develop positive values and habits so that personal growth and character development occurs.

Personal Philosophy of Athletics

GGA Athletics aims to educate our student athletes to rely on our four pillars of safety, scholarship, service, and sisterhood. It is our mission and belief to embed those pillars into our athletic program while promoting good mental, emotional, social, and physical health.

GGA Athletic’s will focus on teaching young people values and lifelong habits such as - accountability, sportsmanship, confidence, leadership skills, organizational skills, persistence, work ethic, self-discipline, social skills, teamwork, performing under pressure, and the ability to take instruction while striving for excellence Participants and staff members understand that an emphasis on academic achievement is of high importance. GGA is responsible for informing their student-athletes and parents of any risk prior to the student-athlete’s participation in a sport.

FAQ's

Practice times and days are at the discretion of the Head Coach.
Practices will be held at the frequency and discretion of the Head Coach.
Forms are due at the beginning of the season to their prospective coach, those forms include- DC Health Physical form, GGA Medical Records release form, GGA Liability Release form, GGA Picture and Video Release form
Student-athletes report directly to their Head Coach for any and all questions/comments/concerns. If any issues occur past a Head Coach intervening will be brought to the attention of the Athletic Director, any issues arising after would be brought to the attention of the Executive Director.
Parent(s) and guardian(s) report directly to the Head Coach for any and all questions/comments/concerns. If any issues occur past a Head Coach intervening will be brought to the attention of the Athletic Director, any issues arising after would be brought to the attention of the Executive Director.
Student-athlete needs will be based off of the sport being played and will be addressed at the beginning of the sport season by the Head Coach
Girls Global Academy Athletics as a public charter school incur all costs associated with basic athletic costs (to include, but not limited to) uniforms, transportation, team equipment, and facilities maintenance. GGA Athletics reserves the right to invoice for any replacement of lost equipment or equipment damaged beyond normal wear and tear, as determined by the Head Coach and the Athletic Director, will be the sole responsibility of the athlete and their parent/guardian.
Each student-athlete and their family is required to attend the beginning season All Athletics meeting held by the Athletic Director and the beginning of the season Team meeting that is held by the Head Coach.
