DC SUN Bucks is back for summer 2026! And with that, the SUN Bucks team appreciates your support in “spreading the word” to families about the 2026 SUN Bucks program. We are now able to share SUN Bucks promotional outreach materials and are asking partners like you to help promote SUN Bucks. 

What is SUN Bucks?

Now in its third year, DC SUN Bucks provides a one-time payment of $120 in extra grocery benefits for each eligible student over the summer. It’s just one way to make sure that kids in our community have access to the healthy food they usually get at school.  

Most eligible students are automatically enrolled in the program, but some will need to apply. Trusted community members (like you!) can help spread the word about DC SUN Bucks. Your support is crucial to ensuring no student goes hungry during summer break.   

How Can You Support Families with SUN Bucks?

Direct families to learn about DC SUN Bucks via the website or QR codes found on our promotional materials.  

• Direct families to sunbucks.dc.gov to learn more about the program:
  • Families can find out if they need to apply;, and 
  • Families can learn how to use their benefits. 
• Use our Partner Resources page and Outreach Guides (in English, Spanish, and Amharic) to “spread the word” to families:
  • Print SUN Bucks posters (in English, Spanish, and Amharic) to place in family-facing spaces;,  
  • Print SUN Bucks and fliers (in English, Spanish, and Amharic) to place in family-facing spaces; 
  • Use ready-made SUN Bucks graphics and captions (in all three languages) to share on social media; 
  • Use ready-made SUN Bucks newsletter texts (in all three languages) to share via email; and 
  • Look out for SUN Bucks text message resources later this month!
