Jackie Sylvain

Restorative Intervention Specialist

“Ms. Sylvain is a native of Brooklyn NY with over 12 years of Social Work experience in child welfare, mental health, and education. She comes with a wide range of knowledge and experience in crisis response, restorative justice, women’s empowerment, and Social Emotional Learning as it pertains to Restorative Pedagogy. Ms. Sylvain earned a BS in Human Services at SUNY Empire State College. She also attained her MSW from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in NYC.

She is the creator and founder of Purpose Driven Women Empowerment, (PDW) a women’s empowerment group and non-profit that provides women a voice and space to share and collaborate their common experiences as they navigate everyday issues. Ms. Sylvain is also a Labor and Delivery Doula, supporting moms and families through prenatal and postpartum births since 2019. Ms. Sylvain enjoys road trips, live jazz, and gardening.

My hope for this new school year is to provide support to students and families through community outreach, and restorative mediation to help build on GGA’s pillars in the areas of sisterhood, scholarship, safety and service.”
