Who or what inspires you, and why?
My Aunt Quay inspires me, she is one of 9 (the oldest girl) and went from doing hair to selling real estate and creating economic wealth for her family. She has been the rich auntie who loves us and make sure we are ok. I’m inspired by my work with Black girls who are doing the work to remain strong and brilliant despite what is happening in society. I also admire my grandmother, Lottie Stephens. She was my kindred spirit and worked in a factory as a seamstress and taught me how to make clothes. I appreciate process and things coming together to make something beautiful.
