I am Prince William County, Manassas & Manassas Park Virginia Poet Laureate Emerita. I’m the first African American Poet Laureate for that region. The legacy I’ve created is touching people with words. I tell people of all ages to: “Stop writing your accomplishments in chalk while you write your mistakes in soul ink”!
Who or what inspires you, and why?
I’m a Christian (not the, you are going to hell, judgmental type of Christian), lol. Jesus, His words and how He treated people inspires me. I believe God is a poet so words matter. We must use them carefully.
