Lauren Johannesson-McCoy is a graduate of Georgetown University. Inspired by her work at Georgetown’s Center for Social Justice during her undergraduate career, Lauren pursued a career in education after graduation. After serving as a Jesuit Alumni Volunteer at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago, IL, Lauren returned to DC and continued to work as a high school teacher at Bladensburg High School in Prince George’s County before returning to Georgetown to work and study. She obtained her MBA and worked in several positions before joining American University’s Washington College of Law as the Assistant Director of Business Operations in the fall of 2019. Outside of work, Lauren stays busy with her family in Columbia Heights riding bikes, running around the playground, and trying out new recipes.
