Interview Questions

What is a story that you’d like to share related to your experiences and/or the legacy you hope to leave?

Growing up I wanted to be perfect or at least close to perfection as I could in everything that I did. However, I had to realize that I needed to focus more on the progress I was making instead of perfection. The progress I make is a part of my story, I am writing my legacy everyday. I take time to celebrate small and large victories, learn valuable lessons and set goals for the future.

Who or what inspires you, and why?

Throughout my life, my parents have inspired me. and instilled in me the importance of a purpose driven life. At a young age, I was encouraged to be a learner, a thinker and most importantly a leader. My parents constantly advised me to put God first, work hard, never take anything or anyone for granted and help others. I saw this first hand from my parents on a day-to-day basis. One volunteer event that my family and I have participated in over the past 20 years is an annual Christmas party for abused and neglected children in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Each year we look forward to attending the Christmas party and raising funds to purchase gifts and provide meals to children. By understanding where my family came from and their beliefs, I was driven to give back by volunteering in my community and participating in initiatives not because I had to but because I wanted to.
